Same old game

I watched Squid Game. I’m a culture junkie, so if everyone else is talking about it, I have to know too. I had worried that it would destroy all the hope that I was feeling for the world based on Ted Lasso. It isn’t exactly an uplifting tale, but I don’t get why everyone has been acting like it is so original and wonderful. The design is interesting to look at and the story is fascinating, but it certainly isn’t original.

That is about all I have to share today. I’m writing for writing’s sake tonight in an attempt to get back into the habit of writing daily. I checked my list of ideas, but telling any of those stories take a lot more energy than just sharing my opinion about the latest big hit on Netflix. I finished the series tonight, so it is on my mind.

No spoilers here except to say that there was nothing surprising about the show. I realize that once there is so much hype, it is difficult for something to live up to that. But, I can’t help but wonder what all the raving has been about. It is just another story about rich people using poor people to play games.

This is Year 49 . . .
